Fuzzy Neural Networks Control for Hydraulic AGC System of Aluminum Cold Rolling Mill

The hydraulic AGC system of aluminum coldrolling mill is directly related to the quality andeffectiveness of cold rolling aluminum sheet strips.Traditional PID control becomes difficult to satisfy thenecessity of improving the control performance of coldrolling mill.High precision,simple and effectivecontrol strategies are very important for the hydraulicAGC system of cold rolling mill.For the complexcontrol problems,it is also desirable to integrateneural networks into fuzzy control so as to simplify andautomate the specification of linguistic rules.Thisleads to good adaptation,good robustness and lessdependency on the precise model of the control system.In the paper,a fuzzy neural networks control has beendeveloped and applied to the screw-down mechanismcontrol of hydraulic AGC system of cold rolling mill.The simulation experiment results verify thesuperiority of the proposed compound control to theconventional PID control in the static and dynamiccontrol performance.The merits of both fuzzy controland artificial neural networks are well used in thehydraulic AGC system of aluminum cold rolling mill.
