EXPOSURE TESTS OF CONCRETE IN HIGHLY AGGRESSIVE ENVIRONMENT
Results of exposure tests of concrete containing different mineral admixtures in highlyaggressive (large temperature difference and saline-alkaline soil) environment are presentedin this study. The effect of material compositions on the corrosion resistance of concrete isinvestigated. Porosity of concrete samples and the interracial transition zone are analyzed withMercury intrusion porosimetry, scanning electron microscope and microhardness test. It isshown that the addition of mineral admixture can greatly refine the pore structure of concreteand decrease its connectivity. The corrosion resistance and durability of concrete structuresare thus enhanced.
