A NEW SIMILARITY EXPERIMENTAL METHOD OF CONCRETE STRUCTURAL DURABILITY
In order to evaluate and predict the durability behaviors of concrete structures under theenvironmental conditions, a new similarity experimental method is introduced which canevaluate the field performance of reinforced concrete (RC) structures by measuring thestructural members in the artificial accelerated environment. The method establishes thesimilarity-relationship of performance changing between the field and the acceleratedenvironmental conditions by contrasting and analyzing the behaviors under bothenvironments, and realizes the effective and exact predict to the field structures from theindoor accelerated experiments. It brings forward a new way of thinking to test the RCstructures under the environmental conditions. The specific application of a practical projectdesign of multi-environmental time similarity methodology on RC structures under thechloride penetration as an example is presented.
