THE STATISTICALLY SECOND-ORDER TWO-SCALE METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE MECHANICAL PERFORMANCE OF COMPOSITES WITH INCONSISTENT RANDOM DISTRIBUTION
A class of composites is called as the composite materials with inconsistentlyrandom distribution if their random distribution characteristics are variable, for example, functional gradient material. A new statistically second-order two-scale method is developedfor predicting the mechanical parameters of composite materials with inconsistently randomdistribution, including stiffness and elastic limit strength. In this paper, themicro-configuration of the consistently/inconsistently random composites is represented. Thestatistically second-order two-scale analysis formulation is briefly shown. And then thecomputation for the stiffness and strength of inconsistently random composites is discussed, and the procedure of the statistically second-order two-scale computation is stated. Finally, the numerical results for stiffness and elastic limit strength of composites with inconsistentlyrandom distribution are shown.
