INFLUENCE OF STRAY CURRENT AND CHLORIDE ION ON THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF REINFORCED CONCRETE
In the paper, the compressive strength of reinforced concrete was investigated in thepresence of stray current only or both stray current and chloride ion. Results indicated thatcombined effect of stray current and chloride ion on the mechanical property of reinforcedconcrete was more obvious than when only stray current was applied and that effect wasenhanced with the increase of voltages, chloride ion concentration and corrosion duration. Amathematical relationship was established between the loss in compressive strength andintensity of stray current, chloride ion concentration and time.
