THE APPLICATION METHOD RESEARCH OF USING PHASE CHANGE MATERIALS TO REDUCE THE INNER TEMPERATURE RISE OF DAM CONCRETE
The required capability was analyzed of phase change materials (PCM) used to decreasethe inner temperature rise based on the temperature history of dam concrete. The calculationformula of interior maximum adiabatic temperature rise of concrete with pre-embedded PCMand the quantity of heat of microencapsulated phase change materials (MNPCM) suspensionsabsorbed were deducted. The results showed that 20±3℃ is the feasible melting temperatureof PCM used to decrease the inner temperature rise of dam concrete; When a plenty of PCMpre-embedded in dam concrete, the decrease of temperature is obviously, as a result the longand wide pipes were needed; With the extent of temperature rise increased, the extent oftransmit heat efficiency of MNPCM suspensions decreased. The quantity of heat thatMNPCM suspensions absorbed can be improved 168--57% when the temperature rise 3-8℃.The efficiency of the transmit heat can be increased and the energy consume can be decreasedwhen MNPCM suspensions were used to replace water as cooling medium. The method ofusing MNPCM suspensions have higher technical and economic feasibility than the methodof using pre-embedded PCM to decrease the inner temperature of dam concrete.
