CORROSION RESISTANCE OF CEMENT ASPHALT MORTAR
Slab track is an advanced track structure in high speed railway. Cement asphalt mortar (CAmortar) is the key component in the structure of slab track and serves as the elasticshock-absorber. In the paper, CA mortar with different asphalt emulsion and cement ratios(A/C) was subjected to various aggressive media (acid, alkali, salt and oil), and the variationin compressive strength, mass and surface appearance of specimens were compared withreference CA mortar. Results indicated that compressive strengths of CA mortar exposed toacid, alkali and oil were decreased to various extents; the higher A/C and the concentration ofaggressive solutions were, the more prominent the tendency of degradation was, Neithersignificant mass loss or gain was observed, nor was the surface scaling. CA mortar wascapable of withstanding salt attack and no remarkable difference in compressive strength wasnoted. In addition, FTIR test of the samples exposed to aggressive environment indicated thatmineralogical composition of CA mortar was stable.
