Research on Phenol-Formaidehyde Adhesive Modified by Enzymatic Hydrolysis Lignin
Enzymatic hydrolysis lignin(EHL) modified phenol-formaldehyde adhesive was synthesized by one-step technique, with partial phenol being substituted by enzymatic hydrolysis lignin abstracted from the residues of cornstalks which were used to make energy alcohol. EHL modified phenol-formaldehyde(PF) adhesive was used to prepare plywood by hot press. The bonding strength of the plywoods as well as the viscosity, solid content, water miscibility, brominable substance content, dissociative phenol and dissociative formaldehyde were investigated. The results showed that when 20% of the phenol amount was replaced by EHL, all the performances of modified adhesive still reached the national standard of Plywood I, especially the water resistance was excellent, the bonding strength after boiling two times in water was much higher than the national standard of Plywood I: 0.7MPa.
