BIO-OILS AND CHAR COAL FROM MICROWAVE PYROLYSIS OF BAMBOO RESIDUES
A series of pyrolysis oils and bamboo-charcoals were prepared from bamboo residues by the microwave pyrolysis. The effects of process parameters such as material moisture, pyrolysis temperature, pyrolysis power input, catalyzer (microwave receptor) and particle size on the pyrolysis product yields and their physicochemical properties was examined. When pyrolysis conditions were as follows: pyrolysis power input 700 watts, temperature 550℃, 4% of char, and material moisture between 5~8%, the yield of bio-oil was maximum (44.91%wt of bamboo residues), and the yield of bamboo-charcoal and gaseous was 23.21% and 31.88% respectively. The results of GC/MS showed that pyrolysis bio-oils had complexity components (contain many highly oxygenated oils) should need to be upgraded in order to raise their heating values; moreover, bamboo-charcoal had the certain absorption and adsorption properties. The results showed us the great potential of microwave pyrolysis for bio-oil and bamboo-charcoal from bamboo residues.
