The dynamics study on Co-gasification of coal and biomass
In order to obtain the co-gasification properties of coal and biomass, the coal char and biomass char were firstly prepared by fast pyrolysis in a fixed-bed. Subsequently, co-gasification of coal char/biomass char blends and gasification of individual feedstocks used in the blends were performed in a modified PerkinElmer TGS-2 thermobalance analyzer. In the experiments, the coal sample used is Huolinhe lignite (from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China) and the biomass samples selected were MBM (meat and bone mixture) and bagasse. The gasification agent carried was the mixture of steam and nitrogen. The influences of gasification temperature, the blending ratio of biomass in mixtures on co-gasification properties were investigated. The results indicated that the reaction rate of coal/biomass mixtures was improved compared to coal only.
