CARBON DIOXIDE REFORMING OF TOLUENE AS A MODEL OF TAR FROM BIOMASS GASIFICATION OVER NI-BASED CATALYSTS USING A FLUIDIZED REACTION
A series of catalysts, including Ni/γ-Al2O3, Ni/α-A12O3, Ni/SiO2 and Ni/MgO was prepared by impregnation method. The order of activity measured by conversion of toluene was Ni/MgO> Ni/α-Al2O3> Ni/γ,-Al2O3 >Ni/SiO2, when these catalysts used in CO2-reforming toluene in pilot plant scale to syngas, using a fluidized bed reactor. Ni/MgO catalyst was well-performanced that conversion of toluene was about 100% and stable during 7h at 650℃, GHSV=38400h-1. The properties of these catalysts were characterized by H2-TPR, XRD, CO2-TPD, O2-TG and ICP-AES. The results point out that MgO as support enables Ni-based catalyst to gain NiO-MgO solid solution, increase the capacity of CO2 absorption which leads to decrease carbon deposition. It also can be concluded that it was cracking of toluene, instead of absorption of CO2, which was the rate-determining step in dry-reforming toluene.
