Studies on the effects of pretreatment on production hydrogen of sludge anaerobic digestion
The sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plant are rich in organic matter, including little organic compounds of cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignose. It need long time to be natural degradation with slow rate and low efficiency. In this paper, a comparative study of the ways of pretreatment with acid alkali treatment 、 heat digestion and ultrasonic treatment were done. The results showed that the organic compounds in the sludge were mostly dissolved, including nonbiodegradable organic lignose, cellulose and hemicelluioses, and it exhibited that the SCOD were increased, the rate of anaerobic digestion was speeded up, the period of hydrogen production was Shorten and the capacity of hydrogen production was improved. After the sludge was treated by acid alkali treatment, the amount of the SCOD of the 2#, 3 #, 4# were separately increased 2.47、2.53、2.83 times, the capacity of hydrogen production were 11.5、 12.2、 11.7 mlH2/g(VS), the period of hydrogen production was Shortened to 7.5d and the degradation rate was up to 72.04%. After the sludge was treated by heat digestion, the number of the SCOD of the 5#, 6#, 7# were separately increased 1.73, 1.76, 1.70 times, the capacity of hydrogen production were 24.7, 24.1, 24.1ml H2/g(VS), the degradation rate was up to 81.4% and the period of hydrogen production was Shorten to 8d. After the sludge was treated by ultrasonic treatment, the number of the SCOD of the 8#, 9#, 10# were separately increased 2.70, 2.77, 2.64 times, the capacity of hydrogen production were 34.2, 34.9, 34.5ml H2/g(VS), the rate of methane contained in the gas was close to zero, the degradation rate was more than 80% and the period of hydrogen production was Shorten to 6.5d. The effect of pretreatment through ultrasonic treatment was better than others by comparing the three ways of sludge pretreatment.
