STUDIES ON ANAEROBIC FERMENTATION BIOHYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM MOLASSES WASTEWATER

Research on anaerobic fermentation biohydrogen production from molasses wastewater in a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) was conducted. It was indicated that, the reactor has the ability of producing continues hydrogen in the experimental condition. The content of hydrogen was about 75.77% in the fermentation gas and the rate of COD removal was about 8%. The molasses wastewater was the suitable biohydrogen production substrate in CSTR reactor and the effect to produce hydrogen was remarkable.
