SUGAR PREPARATION FROM CORN STOVER BY TWO-STAGE ACID HYDROLYSIS UNDER NORMAL PRESSURE

The aim of the study was to develop a technology of gentle conditions, simple flow path, low costs and high yield &total sugars which use corn stover as raw material and with sulfuric acid as the catalyst. It was developed that the new technology which corn stover was hydrolyzed by the two-stage acid hydrolysis technology at normal pressure is based on the chemical method of acid hydrolysis to product sugars. It was explored that the effects of different factors on total sugars yield in the process of acid hydrolysis by single factor experiments. Through a contrast experiment of concentrated acid hydrolysis, dilute acid hydrolysis and two-stage acid hydrolysis at normal pressure from corn stover, respectively, it can be known that: the result of two-stage acid hydrolysis was obviously superior to concentrated acid hydrolysis and dilute acid hydrolysis; The process conditions of two-stage acid hydrolysis at normal pressure were optimized as follows: During the first stage acid hydrolysis ,sulphuric acid concentration was in 60 percent and temperature at 45℃ for 0.5h, the ratio of acid-solid was 12:1; During the second stage acid hydrolysis, the ratio of water-solid was 220:1, and the hydrolysis temperature at 100℃ for 2.0h, the yield of total sugars in hydrolysate was reached over 93 percent.
