Preparation of Biodiesel and Epoxy Curing Agent C21 Diacid Polyamide From Tung Oil
The process to produce C21 diacid (TMAA) and biodiesel with methyl eleostearate and acrylic acid by Diels-Alder reaction was studied, the unreactive methyl esters of fatty acid were separated from addition compounds, through the properties analysis ,the methyl esters of unreactive fatty acids were similar to the biodiedsel from other oils, and could be used as liquid fuel. The best reaction conditions of TMAA were as follows: p-benzenediol as the polymerization inhibitor at amount 1% of acrylic acid., reaction temperature 180℃,reaction time 3 h ,feed ration of methyl eleostearate /acrylic acid 1: 0. 247. Compared to the cured products of polyamide from C36 dimer acid, the cured product of polyamide from TMAA had higher elasticity modulus, bending strength, bending modulus, compression strength, compression modulus and glass transition temperature, but lower tensile strain for its shorter carbon chain. It was indicated that the constituent of the unreacted fatty acid fraction (180-240 ℃/2 mmHg) was suitable for the use of biofuel, the yield of this component was 85%.
