STUDY ON PREPARATION AND PROPERTY OF BIODIESEL WITH LEATHER WASTE FAT
The biodiesel was prepared with the pure fat pretreated with leather waste fat and methanol under the catalyst of potassium hydroxide (KOH). The reaction conditions such as KOH dosage, reaction temperature, time and the molar ratio of fat and methanol was investigated in detail. The test results are indicated that: pure fats acid value is 2.56mgKOH/g and saponification value is 127.4mgKOH/g. The preferable condition is that the dosage of the catalyst is 1.2％ (compare with the dosage of the fat), the temperature is 55℃, the time is 120min and the molar proportion of the fat and the methanol is 10:1. The output of the biodiesel is higher, the quality is better with this condition. We found it tally with the national criterion by testing physical and chemistry indexes of biodiesel.
