Overview of dilute acids hydrolysis of lignocellulose-- kinetics and reactors
Dilute acids have been widely applied to catalyze the hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass to produce sugars that can be fermented to bioethanol and other products.The studies and applies of hydrolysis reactors have made a great progress in the past several decades,and different reactor configurations and process perform different hydrolysis efficiency.Kinetic models can help us understand the hydrolysis processes,and optimize the reactors.In this articale, we reviewed the exsisting hydrolysis models firstly.Then ,a comparison on five kinds of hydrolysis reactors was made on their performance and configuration.Finally, we proposed the future trends on the process for hydrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass and reactor designing.All of these will lay the foundation for further research work.
