The Integrated Analysis of Different Technical Routes of Crop Straw Power Generation: Based on the Investigation of the Existed Cases in Jiangsu
Jiangsu is a great agricultural province and has an abundant crop straw resource, producing more than 37 million tons (means 17.9 million tce) of crop straw in 2006, and representing about 5.91% of total yield in China, with great energy potential. Development of crop straw power generation can make up for the deficiency of conventional power, dramatically reduce environment pollution and eliminate green house gas (GHG) emission. At present, there are three modes of straw power generation in Jiangsu: co-firing of crop straw with coal, gasification and direct combustion. However, the developing of various modes is quite unbalance. Previously, these technologies are usually separately studied. Till now, there is no systematic research to compare and assess these technical routes in a comparative manner. From aspects of the practical operation conditions, straw fuel, power technologies, economic and environment benefits, as well as the existing main problems, the advantage and disadvantage of various technical routes are synthetically compared and analysed on the basis of the existed cases of straw power generation in Jiangsu. Therefore, correlative conclusions are obtained on the appropriate development of various technical routes in terms of the study above.
