The Advantages of Developing Sweet sorghum Industrialization in Gansu Province

The energy crisis is one of the greatest challenges in the world, Biomass energy has been considered a successful alternative to fossil fuels. Facing the strategy demand on energy in China, the IMP has taken actively part in the bioenergy industrialization from sweet sorghum in Gansu Province. This paper gives a brief analysis on the advantages of developing sweet sorghum industrialization in Gansu Province. A conclusion has been drawn that the platform of mutation breeding with heavy ion beam will be a novel bioenergy technology, which contributes to accelerate the development of sweet sorghum industrialization. In addition, the advantage of natural resources in Gansu play a key role in providing the excellent raw materials for sweet industrialization.
