THE FACIAL FEATURES EXTRACTION IN THE ENVIRONMENT OF NETWORK EDUCATION

This paper discusses an algorithm for facial features extraction in the environment of the network education. There are two features proposed: the area of the face and the distance between two eyelids. The algorithm works by first doing face detection on input images using face skin model and extracting the height and the width of the face region. Then an eyes detector is used to detect the possible eye candidates by computing the Complex Degree of every tiny region in the face image. After that, it uses the neural network to evaluate the eye candidates and then locates the real eye region. Finally, the distance between two eyelids can be extracted from the eye region. The experimental results prove that this method can achieve good location performance and good effect of extraction.
