EXPERIMENT STUDY ON STRUCTURAL BEHAVIOR OF CORRODED REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS UNDER ACCELERATED ENVIRONMENTAL
Reinforced concrete structure ages very slowly in natural environment. Accelerated agingmethod is important and necessary in studying deterioration of structural behavior of concreteelement. By employing accelerated-corrosion method to accelerate corrosion of the bars inconcrete under artificial environment, experiments were performed to study the structuralbehavior of corroded reinforced concrete beams. The experiment results showed that thecorrosion characteristics and behaviours of corroded bars, bearing capacity, ductility, andfailure mode of beams are very different for reinforced concrete beams aged in artificialclimate and that aged by galvanization method.
