Workplace Culture: Understanding Attributes of Workplace Incivility and Its Measurement
This paper focuses on one aspect of workplace culture—incivility.It reviews a range of empirical studies that examine the measurement of incivility as well as impact of workplace incivility on organization effectiveness.Such a review has been conducted in order to draw conclusions about how the incivility is conceptualized and the extent to which workplace incivility is linked with organization effectiveness.Greater clarity on the empirical evidence can inform the wisdom of current practice,guide organization efforts to improve worker performance,and provide directions for worker policy decisions.
