A Novel Partner Selection Algorithm based on Swarm Intelligence
Firms are compelled to form virtual enterprises to stay ahead in the global economy,especially in high-tech industries.Many researchers claim that partner selection in virtual enterprise is the most crucial stage as a wrong decision may cause failure in virtual enterprise,which is usually a combinatorial optimization problem.This paper employs a typical swarm intelligence algorithm-Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm for the partner selection optimization.Firstly,an optimization model is presented,which includes the main crucial factors for partner selection,such as running cost,reaction time and failure risk.ACO is then presented for the solution.A typical example is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the algorithm.Experimental results indicate that the proposed optimization model and scheme provides a reference to partner selection in the practical VE operation and sub-project management problems.
