A Comparison between Corporate Political Activities in the UK and the US, and its Implications to Chinese MNEs

Management studies on corporate political activities (CPAs) have achieved abundantly.But these studies are mainly based on American experience.Comparison made between CPAs in China and the West is therefore somewhat misleading – not only to researchers but also to Chinese MNEs.A comparison,by case studies,therefore is made between the UK and the US.It shows that CPAs are different from country to country even within the West.This is a function of political culture,political system,industrys image among the public and its importance to the nations economy.These factors combined create a unique political environment in each host country.Chinese MNEs must understand the uniqueness,and adopt political strategies accordingly.
