Innovation of the Management Regime of Chinas Sports Tourism
This paper adopts both empirical and standardized methods in the research and argues that institutional hindrance is the primary factor restricting the development of Chinas sports tourism.Through analysis, the author suggests that this institutional hindrance can be attributed to four factors: first, lack of laws and regulations and medium-and long-term development planning; second, unsound institutional framework; third, relatively chaotic management; and fourth, incomplete reform of the property rights system. The author then draws the conclusion that if China is to develop sports tourism, give a full play to the functions of sports tourism, and satisfy domestic and overseas travelers demand for Chinas sports tourism, the nation must accord high priority to the innovation of management regime. To this end,the author recommends the following measures: (1) accelerate the promulgation of the Sports Tourism Law; (2) build a macro management regime for sports tourism which fits the needs of the socialist market economy; (3) improve the operating management regime; (4) facilitate sports tourism development planning; (5) make the best use of the nations encouragement and fostering policies; (6) reform the investment and financing management regime; and (7) fully implement the paid vacation system. The main innovations of this paper lie in its comprehensive investigation of problems in Chinas sports tourism management regime and presentation of highly operational solutions.
