An Overview of Information Technology Outsourcing Relationship Models

Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) relationship between customer and vendor is now commonly accepted as an indicator for successful outcomes of ITO.Many academicians concentrated a lot on it.Based on the existing literature about ITO relationship,this article reviews six representative models,as well as their related models,to explore the research thinking of academicians who researched the characteristics of ITO relationship types,developing stages and the potential value of relationship qualities through the method of modeling.The key points of each model are presented and the features of same perspective of models are summarized and analyzed.It concludes that more and more determinants and components will be involved in the models with the development of offshore outsourcing activities.And the suggested areas of research will help to further the academic literature and the practitioners understanding of ITO relationship.
