Economic Reform in Transitional Economy:Lesson Learnt from Lao Experience

Lao People Democratic Republic has gone through economic transformation anddevelopment period for almost 21 years. After two decades of reforms, experiences shouldhave been accumulated and lessons should be learnt,particularly when both successful anddepressing results have been observed.The paper discusses some reforming issues in orderto provide a set of lessons and policy recommendations for current round of reforms whichis more concerned with development issues than transformation from command to marketeconomy.
