A Study of R&D Efficiency of Biochemical Pharmaceutical Enterprises Based on DEA
Efficiency evaluation of R&D is a very important part of R&D management in enterprises, but the design and choice of evaluation method is the focus and most difficult part. This paper uses DEA method to analyze R&D efficiency for the listed biochemical pharmaceutical companies of China. The results indicate that most of these biochemical pharmaceutical companies are more or less the same in R&D efficiency. R&D efficiency is related to the companies size to some extent, and the R&D expense of some companies is more efficient than the R&D staff inputs. Meanwhile it proves that the DEA method is suitable for the R&D efficiency evaluation.
