The Implementation of a New Employment Relations System and Employees Responses in a Chinese Manufacturing Enterprise
Using both quantitative and qualitative approaches, this case study investigates the changes in employment relations and how employees have responded at ZC, a Chinese privately-owned manufacturing enterprise. It emerges that while the levels of employees satisfaction with performance appraisals, staffing and pay are between high and moderate, the levels of satisfaction with training and development were low. Employees responses to employment relations vary according to personal characteristics including gender, age, education, position, working year and registration status. The practical implications are discussed.
