Suppliers Bargaining Power and Their Business Value in the Chinese Market: A Perspective on Social Capital
Bargaining is the core activity in the buyer-supplier relationship, and the suppliers bargaining power will have great impact on their own business value. This paper investigates the relationship between the suppliers bargaining power and business value from a perspective of social capital to show the impact of different sources of social capital on suppliers bargaining power and the suppliers business value. This allows me to draw three contributions: First, to introduce social capital theory into bargaining power analysis; second, to link social capital with bargaining power and business value, and to use value as a performance indicator to open a new window for research on the impact of social capital. Thirdly, this papers conclusion will help suppliers management to facilitate their social capital utilization for business development and maintenance.
