Research on the Innovation of Organization: Conditions & Methods
The innovation of organization is a systematic issue, and it is a nonlinear process which is formed by kinds of factors interacting and cumulating, so, it contains huge uncertainty and inscrutability. In this paper, we think the innovation system is one of the most complicated, open and capricious systems. There is a legitimate and a shadow system in this system. While the ceaselessly evolving organization adjusts itself to the environment, the two systems will interlace and strive against each other. Therefore, if the organization wants to survive and develop, it should keep a creative tension between the two systems. That is, the legitimate system should provide legible guidance, empower and control the unease emotion of the staff. At the same time, the shadow system should inspire the variety of the viewpoint, call for the dialogue and learning, try to weaken the power of the legitimate system and compel it changing.Here, the creativity and the potential of innovation will be unleashed, and further let out to the organization lay at the edge of the state of chaos. The organization will be capable of carrying out its fundamental.mission or pursuing its brandnew fundamental mission in a new manner. In order to create the necessary innovative conditions, the organization should pay attention to the development of the double-loop learning, the acceleration of the self-organization process and the change of structure to reach the edge of the state of chaos, and remain there.The organizational innovation interlaces with other issues, and it relates to a variety of beneficiaries that bear different desires and objectives. Furthermore, these desires and objectives concern manifold new technologies.Thus, we should give up the over-rigid system method and adopt the soft systems methodology. First, the managers should perceive the issue they confront from the orientation of the organization. They should probe into the nature of this organization issue and the related conflicts. They should also talk to different beneficiaries to learn about the current situation of the organization. In this way, they can get the rich picture of this issue. Second,the managers should construct the fundamental definitions of the related system based on the various possibilities of innovation, which derives from the organizations historical, cultural and political background. Furthermore, they should have the guidelines for the organizations development, and clarify the logic interdependent relations between various actions of the organization. Third, the managers should compare the guidelines with the current situation in order to have feasible innovative practices and take measures to improve the situation. Finally, the managers should repeat these approaches to seek new innovative practices based on the new situation. Therefore,the pursuit of innovative practices will become a cyclic process. Today, all of the economic wealth, growth and strategic strength of the world actually come from intelligence and innovation. Intelligence is the source of innovation by which intelligence is fully represented. Innovation cannot be separated from intelligence, whose value comes from innovation. Among the related terminologies, the innovation of organization describes conceptions and practices that are brand-new for the industry, market or environment in which the organization operates. As an important part of an enterprises innovation system, it directly affects the performance of the enterprise activities such as technological innovation, product innovation and management & systems innovation. However, the process of innovation is the most complicated technological, commercial and organizational process. The system of innovation is the most complex, open and capricious system up to now. It is theoretically and practically important to know how to study the innovation of organization in face of the complicated and ever-chauging environment, and then strengthen its innovation system and enhance the competitive advantage of an organization.
