RESEARCH ON THE MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF FIBER REINFORCED CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITES

Low strength and high brittleness are the dominant reason for the cracking ofcementitious composites. The durability of concrete structure will be deteriorated with theforming and spread of cracks. Applying PVA fiber with high strength and modulus intocementitious composite can significantly improve the toughness, which behavior in a uniqueperformance of pseudo strain hardening and multiple cracking. Four-point bending test wascarried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of composite specimen combing SHCC andmortar with different curing condition and substrate thickness. The results indicate that thestandard curing is better than water curing, and the structure with 20 mm SHCC substratebehavior in more notable strain-hardening and multiple cracking.
