EXPERIMENTAL STUDY AND CURRENT DEVELOPMENT OF PERMIT ION MIGRATION TEST
The PERMIT ion migration test,a non-destructive in situ chloride migration test, was used to determine the chloride diffusivity of a series of concrete and compared with theNEL test. During these tests, the chloride concentration and the conductivity of the anolytewere tested and a good relationship was obtained between them. This provided a convenientway to test the chloride concentration of the anolyte indirectly. The results of thisinvestigation show that The PERMIT ion migration test can be camed out quickly andeffectively and has a good correlation with the NEL test. As the current development of the Permit ion migration test,a new calculation equationaccording the Nernst-Einstein equation was given, which can be used to calculate the chloridediffusivity of concrete by the peak current. The results calculated by the new equation has agood correlation with the results calculated by the Nernst-Plank equation. According to thenew development of PERMIT ion migration test, the concentration of chloride is not neededto be determined any more and the procedure of test should be simplified further.
