BENDING PERFORMANCE AFTER REPAIR FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE DAMAGED BY CHLORIDE

The reinforced concrete structures in marine areas are exposed to extremely severechloride environments. Therefore, many researches of the repair methods the chloride ionspenetration and the steel corrosion have been reported. However, the repair about theeffect of the repair, especially the bending performance after the repair, were little. From theabove backgrounds, the objective of this study was to evaluate the bending performance afterthe repair for the reinforced concrete beam damaged by chloride. The specimen was repairedby the crack injection, the surface coating, and the patch repair, under the differentdeterioration situations in the chloride environment. Based on the above experimental results, the conclusions were as follows. The repair method to decrease the corrosion factor waseffective to restrain the decrease of the bending performance after the repair for the reinforcedconcrete beam. For example,it could be confirmed that the preventive surface coating wasbetter. On the other hand, when the time of the repair was delayed, because the bendingperformance decreased,it was worded about the low repair effect. Based on this study, thepreventive repair was effective to perform the rational maintenance management of thereinforced concrete beam.
