DEVELOPMENT OF CONCRETE WITH HIGH DURABILITY TO SULFATE ATTACK
Concrete is traditionally used as a structural material. However,it is now beingadopted in a number of other situations,such as where structures are subject to sulfate acidattack. Sulfate acid resistant cement,which has been described elsewhere,consists of ordinaryPortland cement,silica fume,fly ash and blast furnace slag. This type of cement convertsportlandite to silicate minerals. It is used not only for structural mass concrete but also forrepairing surfaces of deteriorated walls. This paper demonstrates the durability of sulfate acidresistance concrete used for sewage applications.
