HPC APPLICATION IN DEEP ALLURIUM FREEZING SHAFT AND MICROCOSMIC ANALYSIS

Freezing method is often applied in the mine shaft wall construction. The paper ismainly to analyze pore micro-characteristics of high-performance concrete (HPC) at lowtemperature through scanning electron microscope (SEM). Conclusion is that the crack of lowtemperature concrete is more serious than normal temperature HPC through the SEM researchon micro-structure of pore and pore size. And the cement hydration of low temperatureconcrete is less than HPC at normal temperature. Mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP),compared to normal temperature HPC,low temperature HPC has more complicated porestructure,larger threshold pore diameter and average pore diameter and most possible porediameter. The reason is that the volume of water which is gradually converted to ice at lowtemperatures expands and the volume of pores in HPC also expands. So the effect of lowtemperature on HPC can not be ignored in some ranges.
