Energy Embodied in Goods of International Trade in China: Calculation and Policy Implications
In recent years, the energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions of China have been rapidly growing. One of the important drivers has been the rapid development of foreign trade and huge trade surplus.This article discusses this issue with the concept of embodied energy, and carries out a quantitative study of the energy embodied in the import and export products in China between 2000 and 2006, with the application of input-output table based energy analysis.
