Current Situation and Prospect: Euro and China-EU Relationship in Economy and Trade
Since the arrival of Euro, Euro to US dollar exchange rate has experienced some fluctuations, but the effective exchange rate maintained stable; the Euro areas economic growth is in good shape, and the inflation rate is in the controllable scope; the financial deficit and theunemployment rate is in descending trend; the China-EU trade and FDI from EU to China developed rapidly. However, problems like the trade frictions and asymmetric direct investments between China and EU existed;when the role of EU becomes more and more important, strengthening the Euro as foreign exchange reserve and minetary payment is beneficial to the further development of China-EU economy and trade.
