Optimum Design of Asymmetric Birefringent Interleaver Based on FIR Digital Filter Design Technique
FIR is adopted to design the asymmetricalbirefringent interleaver.By choosing appropriate value ofstructure parameters such as crystal deflection angle,thicknessand angle of analyser,we have managed to design anasymmetrical interleaver,the ratio of output port (widebandwidth) to another output port (narrow bandwidth) at 3dBpassband (bandwidth ratio) is 2.06.The simulation results aregiven and the influence of each crystals azimuth angle,thickness,and analysers azimuth angle on the wholeinterleaver are analysed.The analysis on designing method andsimulation results show that in the asymetrical birefringentinterleaver,the thickness of crystal affects bandwidth ofpassband and channel isolation of output spectrum more thancrystals and analysers azimuth angles.
