A Highly Birefringent Photonic Bandgap Fiber with Squeezed Modified Honeycomb Cladding
A novel highly birefringent photonic band-gap fiber(PBGF) with the squeezed modified honeycomb cladding isproposed.The polarization properties of the PBGF areinvestigated by using a full-vector finite difference method.Numerical results reveal that the phase birefringence of thePBGF could reach the order of 10-2,which is nearly two orderof magnitude higher than that of conventional PMFs.Thegroup birefringence could nearly reach the order of 10-1.
