A Micro-displacement Sensor Based on Cladding Mode Resonance of Optical Special Fiber
A novel micro-displacement sensor based on thespecial fiber cladding mode resonance is proposed anddemonstrated experimentally.The special fiber with doublecladding was spliced into single mode fiber which presentedvery strong resonant spectrum.Based on the high sensitivity tofiber curvature,the micro-displacement sensor was researched.As indicated by experimental results,the sensitivity is achievedto be about 0.1nm/um.With the high sensitivity,themicro-displacement sensor can be found wide applications infields of structure health monitor,aerospace,MEMS and so on.
