Measurement of Complex Electromagnetic Properties of Ferrite Powders and Fluids
Magnetic and electrical properties of ferrite powdersare investigated by the use of a novel method,called ComplexMaterial Properties from Scalar data (CMPS).The principles ofthe one-port method are detailed and they are verified bypresenting measurement results.The complex relativepermeability and permittivity of the samples are derivedsimultaneously by means of a network analyzer and controlsoftware.The coaxial sample holder designed for thismeasurement allows the investigation of liquid and porousmaterials.The presented method is supplemented by direct lossmeasurements at a single frequency in order to gain deeperknowledge of the investigated magnetic nanopowders.
