A Ku-Band Hairpin Filter Based on LTCC Technology
This paper demonstrates a low temperature co-firedceramic(LTCC) hairpin filter for Ku-band receiver.Electromagnetic Field (EM) simulation is employed indetermining the physical dimension of the filter.Theimplemented LTCC filter occupies an area of only 5.6ram×2.3mm.The hairpin filter is fabricated on an eleven layersLTCC substrate.The dimension of the filter is 9.6mm×8.6mm×1.1mm.The measured insertion loss is smaller than2.93 dB with a center frequency of 16.57 GHz; the insertionloss is below -14.5 dB including the RF connector.Thebandwidth of the filter is 2.94 GHz.The tolerance of the LTCCprocess is also analyzed by EM simulation.
