10GHz Low-Noise CMOS VCO for Radar Receiver

A 10GHz Low-Noise voltage-controlled oscillate(VCO) is proposed in this letter by O.18μm RF CMOS processfor radar Receiver.In the letter a pair of high Q inductors anddifferential collpitt cores adopt in a 0.18μm CMOS technologyto achieve a better phase noise performance and wide tuningrange.The VCO operates from 10.0GHz-11.0 GHz with 10%tuning range and has two independent outputs.The realizedVCO works in the PLL system for the radar receiver.Themeasured phase noise at 1MHz offset is-110dBc/Hz from10.14GHz.The measured phase noise at IKHz offset is-85dBc/Hz from 10.14GHz.
