Compact Design Of a Sharp-Rejection Low-Pass Filter Using a Novel Defected Ground Structure
In this article,we propose a microstrip low-passfilter (LPF) comprising of open-circuited stubs on the uppersurface and a novel defected ground structure (DGS) on thelower ground plane, and discuss the impacts of some of theDGS parameters on the frequency characteristics.Based onthis structure,a compact S-band LPF with sharp-rejection isdesigned and simulated effectively.A center frequency f0of 2.65GHz is obtained by adjusting the dimensions of theDGS cell, and the simulated 3dB cutoff frequency fc is2.53GHz with a sharpness factor (SF) of 0.955.
