Antennas and Microwave Passive Device Miniaturization Design and Ralization by Left-Handed Metamaterials
In this presentation,a compact LHM unit ceil,which smallest electrical size is only 0.1,is designed.TheLHM unit cells are stacked and embedded into a host substrateto construct a phase-compensating substrate for the microstripantenna (MSA) miniaturization.Results show that the presenceof the LHM fillings can indeed greatly reduce the physicaldimensions to 0.17λ.Moreover,a miniaturized rectangularwaveguide cavity resonator (MRWCR) depending on thebackward wave property of the LHM is designed andsimulated.Results show that the electrical length of theMRWCR is only a third of that of a conventional cavityresonators.
