C-Band Spatially Power Combiner Using Klopfenstein Tapered Slot Antenna Arrays in Waveguide

The configuration of a novel c-band spatial powercombiner in waveguide is introduced.Employing the optimizedKlopfenstein tapered slot antenna arrays,the waveguide-basedpower combiner based on 2×4 arrays at C band (3.6-4.4GHz)was made.Its size is 70mm×98mm×170mm and it isimplemented by using eight commercial GaAs MMIC poweramplifiers.CW power combiner measurements were performedwith output power greater than 20W (CW) at the frequencyrange from 3.6 to 4.4GHz,where the maximum saturationoutput power is 46.82dBm (48.08W) at 4.35GHz.Thecorresponding linear gain is about 9.5dB,the PAE isapproximately 26% and the efficiency is about 75%.
