Coplanar-Waveguide Quarter-Wavelength Resonator with Open Stubs for Miniaturizing High-Temperature Superconducting Bandpass Filter
This paper presents a newly developed compactcoplanar-waveguide (CPW) quarter-wavelength resonators withopen stubs for use in a miniaturized high-temperaturesuperconducting (HTS) bandpass filter (BPF).The proposedresonator has a structure in which the open stubs are alignedclose to the center conductor of the resonator. This is becausestrongly=coupled resonators have widely-split resonantfrequencies, and the lowest resonant frequency is employed asthe fundamental resonant frequency of the resonator in order toachieve miniaturization.A four-pole Chebyshev HTS BPF isdesigned and fabricated using the proposed CPW resonators toinvestigate the validity of the proposed resonator. The filterachieves a size reduction of at least 50% compared to previouslyreported filters without any degradation in the frequencycharacteristics.
