A Novel Type of Rectangular-To-Radial Waveguide Transformer for RWSA at Ka-Band

摘要：

A novel type of rectangular-radial waveguidetransformer for RWSA (Radial waveguide slot array antennas)at Ka-band with good stability,low machining difficulty andlow insertion loss is designed in this paper.The manufacturingdifficulty is enormously reduced by reasonable design of thetop part of the transformer.By adjusting and optimizingparameters of the transformer in HFSS continuously,anadequate performance can be obtained.Both the return loss andthe ripple feature are measured in this work,and therectangular waveguide with proposed transformer can excitethe dominant mode TEM in the radial waveguide.
