The Studies on Coupling Characteristics of Novel Defected Ground Structures
Three types of novel DGSs are proposed firstly inthis paper.The electric and magnetic coupling structures forthree types of DGS are studied respectively.The S-parametersshow that different coupling structures can cause differentfrequency responses,especially the stopband characteristicsand the position of transmission poles.At the same time,thesimilar coupling structures have similar frequency responsesfor three types of DGSs.In order to explore the usefulness ofthe coupled-DGSs,two kinds of low-pass filters (LPFs) aredesigned.Both filters using coupled-DGSs have compactdimensions,wide passbands and excellent attenuationcharacteristics in the wide stopband.
